iTero, CsConnect and Dental Connect order processing

We have created bespoke automation that can save Dental Laboratories time and money by removing some of the manual effort from workflows.

Manual process prior to the automation:

  1. Repeatedly checking for new orders on multiple systems – iTero, CsConnect and Dental Connect
  2. Manually downloading, un-zipping and placing files in the correct location for 3d printing
  3. Printing the order details on paper to use within the lab during the work on each job  
  4. Emailing dental practices if any information is missing
  5. Setting up the STL files for 3d printing and processing them on the 3d printers

Below is a video showing how the automation can be configured to process orders from multiple websites including iTero.

The automation solution consists of:

Small form ‘micro pc’ provided for connection in the lab network
The automation runs directly on the PC and is supported by ourselves
An existing local lab printer is configured on the PC so the automation can print job sheets
The automation will download orders every 15 minutes, extract the files, save them
in a suitable location ready for 3d printing, can rename the files as required, and can
even email a dental practice or notify someone at the lab if order information is
missing from the job.
Removes a repetitive (and boring) manual process to free up staff for more
productive work.
